Leicester lockdown measures tightened: What you need to know

The Government has announced that a localised lockdown has been imposed in the Leicester area following a spike in COVID-19 cases.

This means ‘non-essential’ shops in the city and some of the county have shut and the further easing of lockdown measures due on Saturday won’t take place there.

Restrictions will be in place for at least two weeks.
