Dundee Low Emission Zone: invitation to freight operator briefing

The Scottish Government has asked Dundee City Council to develop proposals for a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) for the city.  LEZs reduce harmful air pollution by preventing some older, more polluting vehicles from being driven within a specified area.

Dundee City Council is about to launch a public engagement exercise on its proposals. Consultation findings will be used to help guide the Council in the decisions that it needs to take regarding the area of the LEZ and the types of vehicle which will be affected.

Publicity about the engagement exercise will commence soon, and freight operators from Dundee and elsewhere will be able to provide their views through an online survey.

The Council is also organising a briefing session for hauliers.  At these, you will be able to find out more about the proposals and ask questions of Council officers and the technical team.

The session will take place on Weds 9 October in Committee Room 2, Council Chambers, 14 City Square, Dundee, from 14:30 to 16:00.
